Finding Out Why Your Frigidaire Dishwasher Wont Drain

If water remains in your Frigidaire dishwasher after the cycle ends, check the kitchen sink drain to make sure its not clogged. If theres no clog, try pressing the Cancel button most Frigidaire dishwashers run the drain pump when the Cancel button is pressed.
If these tips dont help, a broken drain pump, damaged check valve, clogged drain path or control failure could be preventing the dishwasher from draining water.
Check the drain hose for clogs and clear the drain hose if its clogged. Our Dishwasher Not Draining Video shows how to check the drain hose.
The drain hose on many Frigidaire dishwashers includes a check valve that prevents water from backing up into the dishwasher sump through the drain hose. If the check valve is damaged, water may initially drain out of the dishwasher while the drain pump runs but then flow back into the dishwasher after the drain pump stops. Examine the check valve and replace it if its damaged.
If the drain path is clear and the drain pump runs but doesnt pump water out of the dishwasher, then youll need to replace the drain pump. Youll also need to replace the drain pump if it doesnt run when it gets current from the control.

Whirlpool Dishwasher Not Circulating Water
I have a one year old Whirlpool dishwasher . It recently began to skip the spraying/rinsing portion of any cycle the bottom fills with water, it heats the water, dispenses the soap, sits, and then drains. When the cycle completes, and the display says CLEAN, the top rack of dishes emerge as if from a sauna, very steamy, but not clean.
The filter cup , the screen , the sprayarm , the feedtube assembly , and the drain hose have been cleaned and inspected and were not clogged.
There are a few pumps, motors, and valves in the dishwasher, but because the filling and draining functions work well, I feel that my fill valve assembly and drain pump are both likely operating normally.
There is a vaugely-named motor , which is part of the Sump & Motor Assembly. I am thinking this is actually a motor and circulation pump sub-assembly. There is also a Diverter Motor that is also a little suspicious in my mind.
Readily admitting I do not know enough to go purchase everything needed with confidence. Hoping you all might be able to tell me how to narrow down the culprits and test suspicious parts definitively. I have a multi-meter and 20k resistors .
Any advice appreciated. Thanks

Is The Pump Motor Making A Humming Sound
If yes, perhaps the impeller is again stuck on something.
Remove the sprayer then simply connect a hose to your kitchen faucet.
You want to push water down the hole where the sprayer was attached.
Once you do that, you may notice some debris get rinsed out of the pump and this could have been the issue.
Once it is unstuck, it should work properly again.
The good news about these pumps is that the motor they use is not easily damaged when it gets stuck.

To resolve this issue, remove the lower access panels using a nut driver to unthread the screws. Once this is done, you should have access to both the door hinges and hinge springs, so check to see if theyre in the proper position. If not, adjust them, and your door should be able to open all the way again.

How To Replace A Dishwasher Door Latch Assembly

If the latch assembly on the dishwasher door isnt working, the door wont latch and the dishwasher wont run. The problem could be the latch itself, or it could be the microswitch that tells the electronic control board if the latch is closed. Fortunately, the latch assembly includes both components, so you just have to replace the latch assembly with the right dishwasher replacement part. This repair guide offers detailed instructions for accessing and replacing the door latch assembly in a dishwasher.
This repair procedure works for some Kenmore, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, JennAir and Amana dishwashers. You also can use the same basic process to replace the door latch assembly on GE, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Samsung and LG dishwashers.

How Can I Avoid This Problem In The Future
Try to keep the screens and filters squeaky clean to prevent this problem from occurring again in the future.
Still on whirlpool circulation pump repair, keep the following in mind:
The pump impeller can be stuck for a different reason- the buildup of mineral deposits especially if you live in an area with very hard water.
In this case, the remedy is usually to remove the pump and soak the inlet in vinegar for a few hours.
Just note that if the pump is very stiff, you can use a flat head screwdriver to try and spin it .
Once you soak the inlet to your pump in vinegar for like two hours, try to see if the impeller will start to turn much more easily .
You then reinstall it and please note you may need new 1-1/2 inch hose clamps here- and check if it will start working as new again.
