Test The Water Inlet Valve

Attach your test cord or battery pack to the valve. If water flows freely through it, the inlet valve isnt causing your dishwasher problems.

But if the water flows slowly or not at all, the inlet valve may need cleaning. And if its free of debris yet still restricting water flow, you have a broken valve that must be replaced.

Bosch 00628334 628334 Dishwasher Inlet Valve

Repair professionals understand that just a few components are responsible for most appliance problems.

With dishwashers, the water inlet valve is always a prime suspect. When your dishwasher goes rogue, expect to find the inlet valve in the subsequent police lineup.

Signs pointing to a faulty inlet valve include:

    • Leaks that fill the dishwasher when its off.
    • Inadequate water for a cycle. The dishwasher fills too slowly or not all.
    • A bad inlet valve can lead to leaks from the dishwasher onto the kitchen floor. This is potentially hazardous.
    • Most inlet valve malfunctions stem from a defective seal or solenoid failure.

Add Soap Directly Inside The Machine

If the cup wont open up anymore like it should, just add soap inside the machine directly with the door fully open .

For the most part, you can wash for years with a broken dispenser by simply tossing soap into the bottom before turning it on each time you have some dishes to wash.

The only downside is that it may not clean as effectively as you are used to.

    But why?

It is because the detergent packs may dissolve a little quickly at the pre-wash step meaning it might not have adequate soap during the main wash stage of the cycle.

The good news is that the pre-wash rinse portions tend to be too short to fully dissolve the packet in most cases so throwing soap in there is the most practical workaround for a broken soap dispenser.

Try it- If it works and you get decently washed dishes, you can be doing this until you decide on the way forward regarding repairs.

Signs Your Ge Dishwasher Isnt Getting Enough Water

How to Fix a Bosch Dishwasher With Standing Water (It was the Water Inlet Valve)

A GE dishwasher not filling with water typically presents with two signs:

  • Dirty dishes after a wash cycle
  • No sounds of water in the machine
  • An adequate water level in your dishwasher should reach the heating coil or middle hub, where the spray arm is anchored. We recommend these steps to determine the correct water level in your dishwasher:

  • Begin a wash cycle
  • When you hear the dishwasher stop filling with water, open the door
  • If the water level is below the middle hub by more than half an inch, your dishwasher may not be getting enough water
  • When you have a GE dishwasher not filling with water, there are usually three main causes. Well help you troubleshoot a GE dishwasher low water level issue.

Dirty Water Supply Line And Inlet Valve

Many refrigerators come with an ice maker and a dispenser. This is likely to happen if you have a Whirlpool fridge or a similar brand. The dispenser and ice maker is a fantastic feature, but they can cause leaks in the refrigerator.

The ice maker and dispenser hardly leak, but the water pipe connecting them can leak. A dirty water supply valve or leaky inlet valve is usually the component if the leak starts from under the fridge.

To fix this issue, you need to check the water supply from its source to other components. Therefore, hiring an expert is always better.

Heres how to fix a leaky fridge caused

    • Turn off the fridge for safety reasons.
    • Find the water supply valve and check thoroughly. Youre checking for visible cracks and confirming its connection with the line.
    • If theres a crack in the pipe, replace it with a similar one. You may need to remove the existing line to buy the exact size.
    • If theres a problem with the connection, call an expert to avoid further damage.

    Water Inlet Valve Clogged

Problem: One possibility for a GE dishwasher not filling with water is a clogged water inlet valve. The water inlet valve allows water to flow into the dishwasher during a wash cycle. If you wonder why theres no water going into my dishwasher, it may be because the inlet valve is clogged with debris.

Solution: Given the complex location of the water inlet valve in your dishwasher, a professional service can best assess if the valve can be cleaned or if it should be replaced.

    Confirm Your Replacement Parts

Because this particular Bosch Integra dishwasher has had many revisions over the years, I highly recommend that you physically examine the inlet valve to visually confirm that what you are about order matches your current part. Speaking from a personal experience, there is nothing worse than taking apart the dishwasher to find out that your new replacement part does not match the old one.

It will only take about 20 minutes to check:

  • Turn off electricity and water
  • Remove the toe kick panel by unscrewing two Phillips head screws
  • On the left side, you should see a water hose connection to the dishwasher. DO NOT remove the hose
  • You should see two Torx screws holding down the inlet valve bracket. Remove these screws using a Torx T20 bit.
  • Detach the inlet valve+bracket+hose connection assembly by gently lifting the bracket from the dishwashers plastic base. You may have to push the insulation blanket out of the way
  • Take a picture of the inlet valve to capture the part #
  • Are Baby Bottles Dishwasher Safe

Yes! Baby bottles from most major bottle manufacturers are perfectly safe to put in the dishwasher. This is true for plastic and glass bottles.

However, you want to put all the parts on the top rack to avoid any melting from being too close to the heating elements.

The FDA has banned the use of BPA in the making of baby bottles so parents dont need to worry about harmful chemicals leaching into the milk or formula as they feed their babies.

Are Baby Bottle Nipples Dishwasher Safe?

Nipples are dishwasher-safe. The best way to clean the nipple of a bottle is by using a bottle basket.

Bottle baskets have compartments for all the components and keep them upright while washing. This allows the nipples to be cleaned more thoroughly and become safer for use.

    Dishwasher Float Switch Stuck

Problem: The float switch detects how much water is in your dishwasher. Its attached to a larger float system that rises and falls with the water level in the tub. Once the water reaches a certain level the float switch is activated and signals the water inlet valve to restrict the flow of water.

Solution: If a GE dishwasher flood float location is stuck too low it wont properly detect water levels and may signal the water inlet valve to close prematurely. This will cause a no water in dishwasher issue. A float switch thats stuck may be malfunctioning and will need to be assessed for replacement.
