Flexible Shelves & Baskets
Do you have lots of different sized pieces of crockery that frequently require reshuffling inside your dishwasher? If so, consider buying a model with several different layout options or removable shelving.
Choosing between a cutlery basket and a cutlery tray might also make a difference. Are you a stand and stuff kind of person when it comes to cleaning the kitchen, or do you prefer to have your forks, spoons and other utensils stored in specific sections?

Buying And Selling Second
When buying second-hand it’s worth knowing the difference between key terms. Used will mean it’s been in someone’s home and hasn’t undergone any kind of refurbishment. Ex-display or graded will mean that it comes from a store so will have been used minimally. Refurbished means it’s been used but has undergone a full check and repair where necessary in order to be as ‘like new’ as possible.
In general, we recommend buying a dishwasher new rather than second-hand as there is less risk of safety problems.
That’s why when buying second-hand you need to ask whether a PAT test has been carried out to ensure the appliance is safe for your home. Equally, if you are going to sell second-hand, make sure you get the dishwasher PAT tested before selling.
Also check whether the seller offers a guarantee, particularly useful for third-party sellers and marketplaces, such as Amazon and eBay. This will give you more security in case the dishwasher goes wrong quickly, or in case there is a safety problem with the product.

What Bosch Dishwashers Are Being Recalled
Several Bosch dishwasher models have been recalled due to potential fire and burn hazards, as well as chemical odor issues. The models included in the recall are: SHY66C, SHX43C, SHX68T55UC/46, SHX98M55UC/46, SPV68U53UC/06, SPX68U55UC/46.

Depending on the design of your kitchen, dishwashers can be installed differently to best fit the space available. There are three main types:

âDishwashers are relatively reliable,â says Trigg. âCompared to something like a washing machine they have very few parts. They don’t do as much physical work either.
