Jenn Air dishwasher repair, control panel replacement

Diagnose the problem with your dishwasher door gasket by finding its cracks or holes, along with checking for splits and tears in the seal that your arm inserted through during the drop test.

Another telltale sign of a problem with the dishwasher door gasket is visible watermarks, which result when this part fails to hold back any amount of liquid from seeping out.

Make sure to identify issues within the joints of your dishwasher door gasket, or else it might not form a good airtight seal around your appliances hinges.

If you find that one or more areas associated with this part require an adjustment, it may be time to replace it entirely.

The Dishwasher Does Not Dry Dishes

We find that the most common cause for water lines is faulty venting. Now, lets explain how we know this to be the issue.

The main purpose of the ventilation system in your dishwasher is to clear out excess steam from the wash cycle.

After all, there arent many appliances that can withstand having extra hot water dumped on them.

As such, if theyre unable to get rid of said steam fast enough, it has no place to go other than back on your dishes.

Next, Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the heating element in order to determine if it is burnt out. If the heating element is not continuous, replace it.

Using The Control Lock On Your Jenn

The control lock on a dishwasher is intended to “lock” the control from unintended use. It can be used while the dishwasher is operating or not. This is perfect for the household with children who like to touch buttons so the dishwasher cannot be turned on accidently or turned off when running.

NOTE: You must press the actual button to activate Control Lock, not the words that say “Hold 3 sec”.

Is The Control Lock Option Activated

Jenn Air Dishwasher Control Panel Issue

Control Lock is used to avoid unintended use of the dishwasher between cycles, or cycle and option changes during a cycle. The red lock indicator shows that the control lock is activated, and the control panel cannot be used while this is activated.

To turn off Control Lock, press and hold the button designated for your model for 3 seconds. This will vary depending on your model number. Once held for 3 seconds, the lock indicator light will turn off. See your Owner’s Manual for your specific model.

NOTE: You may need to disable Sleep Mode by pressing either Start/Resume or Cancel, or by opening and closing the door before you are able to turn Control Lock off.

    How To Reset The Dishwasher:

Control Panel Assembly Replacement (part W11250119) – Jenn-Air Wine Cellar

Much like a computer, resetting the dishwasher control can sometimes solve the issues you are experiencing. To reset the dishwasher control panel, it needs to be disconnected from the power source for one minute. If your dishwasher is plugged into an outlet, simply unplug the unit for one minute and then plug the unit back in. If the dishwasher is hard wired to the power supply, turn the breaker off at the home electrical panel that powers the dishwasher for one minute and then turn the breaker back on.

    Is The Control Lock On

The control lock is used to avoid unintended use of the dishwasher as well as to avoid unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle. The control lock light will stay on for a short time, indicating that it is activated and all buttons are disabled. If any buttons are pressed while the dishwasher control is locked, the light will flash three times. The door can still be opened/closed while the controls are locked.

Some models have an indicator light for the Control Lock. This may be located on another button, or it may be a button itself, depending on your model. This may be red or green, and appears to be a small padlock. If it is located on another button, you will typically have to press and hold that button for 3 seconds. See image below:

NOTE: To enable or disable the Control Lock, you must touch the actual button, not the words “Hold 3 sec” below the button. This is the same regardless of your model having a separate Control Lock button, or if it is located on another button . .

See the Owner’s Manual for your model to determine how to enable and disable the Control Lock for your Dishwasher.

NOTE: You may need to disable Sleep Mode by pressing either START/RESUME or CANCEL, or by opening and closing the door before you are able to turn the control lock off.

To turn off the control lock feature:

The Dishwasher Dispenser Does Not Dispense Soap

The bi-metal actuator is a latch that will release the detergent dispenser door by acting on electricity. It will not release the dispenser door if the bi-metal is burned out.

A multimeter can be used to determine if the bi-metal is still functional. If there is no continuity, it needs to be replaced.

Make sure that the dishwasher itself is getting enough water since this might keep your mechanics from working properly.

Inspect for damage in replacing parts for your dishwasher especially when those faulty parts happen to be the Detergent Dispenser.

    Trouble Starting Jenn Air Dishwasher

Leaving the door open prevents the dishwasher from starting. To determine if the faulty switch is causing this issue.

Plug your multimeter into its low voltage setting and then use it to test for continuity between either side of the door switch.

If either side of the switch has continuity through it , then you should replace the bad part with a new one because this means the door is not closing properly.

The wiring in both instances must match or else they will not work properly.

    Jenn Air Dishwasher Troubleshooting

Certain steps may need to be repeated if the machine does not complete a cycle. Cycle and see if there is any obstruction in the lint trap.

The drain might not be clear or the water heater might not be working.

Stuck dishware may be due to improper loading of cups and glasses against the rotation arm.

Make sure there is plenty of space between each item as too much contact while in motion can cause a jam.

If either of these parts begins to fail, youll be dealing with an expensive repair bill consider upgrading these components before it gets too bad.
