Use The Self Diagnostics To Get Rid Of The Blinking Clean Light Issue
If it is flashing clean light, Press HEATED DRY then NORMAL then HEATED DRY then NORMAL and allow the appliance to run for about two minutes then press CANCEL/DRAIN.
Keep in mind that you should wait for the dishwater to finish the drain cycle.
If there was an insufficient water temp problem, this procedure could resolve it.
Why Is My Ge Dishwasher Beeping 3 Times And Not Starting
If you hear a beeping noise every 30 seconds, this means the GE dishwasher door was opened during the cycle. … Blinking lights and beeping sounds can be caused from a power surge. Press the START/RESET button to reset the dishwasher. Wait for 3 minutes and the dishwasher should resume normal operation.
Dishwashers Controls Are Locked
One situation where the controls become unresponsive is when the child lock is engaged. With this mode enabled, any button you press will not respond.
Depending on the model, you may have a dedicated button for the lock, or it might share the Heated Dry button.
To unlock the GE dishwasher, double-tap the Lock button, then the light above it will go off. In other models, press and keep holding the Heated Dry button for 3 seconds until you hear a beep, followed by the light going off.
If you are sure that the controls have frozen due to an error, then you will have to perform a quick reset.

Door Is Not Properly Closed Open
Most often, the start light will be blinking on its own when the door is opened halfway through. So make sure to close it and close it right.
When you close the door of the dishwasher depending on the model you can hear the latch mechanism.
So if you hear a snapping sound whenever you open and close the dishwasher, thats the latch mechanism engaging/disengaging the door.
Depending on the model, you might be able to figure out if you closed the door properly by listening to this snapping sound. However, even after listening to the snapping noise, if the start light wont stop blinking, then youve probably got a defective door latch.
Bosch Dishwasher Lights Flashing And Will Not Start

There are two extra things we would like to add when it comes to the problem of lights flashing on Bosch dishwashers:
First, if it is precisely the Active light that is flashing, check the door latch .
Secondly, if it is flashing Time and wonât run, it might be because of a dirty filter or a blocked pump .

Letâs now turn on to troubleshooting steps that are specific to various models .
Please donât forget to perform the general troubleshooting steps explained above before proceeding to these brand/model specific solutions.
Why Do Ge Dishwashers Beep Every 60 Seconds
If your GE dishwasher beeps every 60 seconds, it is a usual indication that you must close the dishwashers door to start the wash cycle.
Check the dishwasher doors latch to confirm your suspicions if the beeping ceases, youll understand that this was the problem.
However, if fixing the door latch of your GE dishwasher does not help stop the beeping, you should troubleshoot further.
Always go back to your dishwashers user manual to understand the situation better when these problems arise.
Another thing is that these beeps come with specific error codes that pop on your machines digital screen.
So, combining these error codes with the sounds and lights on your screen helps you get to the root of the problem.
On the other hand, resetting your dishwasher deals with several error codes and beeping sounds that arise from minor issues.
In some instances, these beeps do not occur due to actual errors, but due to machine malfunctions, so a reset is all you need here.
When it doesnt subside after all these trials, it is best to call personnel from the company to take a look.

Problems With The Water Supply
When your GE dishwasher wont turn on, it could also be because of a problem with the water supply.
Make sure the dishwashers water supply valve is turned on and check the water supply hose for tears or kinks.
Any kinks in the hose can be straightened out with care, but a cracked or leaking hose needs to be replaced.
If the supply valve and hose are working, a GE dishwasher that wont start could be because the water inlet valve is broken.
This valve opens and closes so that the dishwasher can get water at the right times during the wash cycle. We recommend that a professional check the water inlet valve and replace it if it needs to be.
Make Sure The Door Is Closed Completely
If the door is open after a minute or two a GE dishwasher will begin beeping to let you know that its open. This is a safety feature to stop pets and small children from injuring themselves. As you are likely aware, when you close the dishwasher door all the way it will give a reassuring click.
Its possible you or someone in your household was in a bit of a rush or didnt close the door firmly enough to close it fully. Open the door and press it closed again to see if the beeping has stopped.

Do Ge Dishwashers Have A Lot Of Problems
GE dishwashers dont have a lot of problems and their problems arent any more frequent or severe than other brands. GE is a reliable company.
The most common problems GE dishwashers have are water filling issues, water leaks, draining problems, and the appliance suddenly stopping during a wash cycle.
There are also cleaning issues which means the drain can get clogged. However, you are supposed to clean your dishwasher twice a year to prevent that.
Pressing The Start/reset Button Twice To Reset The Dishwasher
If you notice that most of the buttons are lit up and the dishwasher is not running, you probably pressed the Start/Reset button more than once. Depending on your model, the Start/Reset button, when pressed once, will start the dishwasher cycle. However, if pressed twice, the dishwasher will reset. Pressing the Start/Reset button will restart the cycle.

A locked control panel will not cause the start button to flash. However, if this light is flashing and the lock is engaged, you will not be able to start the dishwasher until you unlock the panel. I will explain this in more detail below, but you can usually unlock the control panel by holding down the Steam button for three seconds.

Make Sure The Door Latch Works
The door latch assembly keeps the door shut during the wash cycle so that water doesnt leak out. It also has a switch for the door latch that gives power to the controls of the dishwasher.
If the dishwasher door isnt shut all the way, it wont get the power it needs to finish a wash cycle. Find the door switch at the top of the dishwasher door and make sure that both switches are mechanically turned on when the door closes.
You can also use a millimeter to check for continuity, but make sure the power to the dishwasher is off.

Dishwasher Not Getting Power
Sometimes a GE dishwasher not starting is more of a power issue than a dishwasher malfunction. We first suggest checking your dishwashers power sources to make sure theyre functioning properly:
- Make sure the dishwasher is correctly plugged into a functioning electrical outlet.
- Confirm that the power switch is on. Switches are often located under the sink or on the wall near the dishwasher.
- Check your homes circuit breaker or fuse box for tripped breakers or blown fuses. Reposition any tripped breakers or replace blown fuses.
Ge Dishwasher Timer Problems
If your dishwasher timer doesnt seem to be working correctly, there are a few things you can do to troubleshoot the issue.
- Ensure nothing is blocking the detergent cup.
- Every cycle, close and open the detergent cup.
- Ensure the detergent cup is fully open when the timer stops and the machine starts washing if it is under water.
- The timer knob or control panel may be damaged. There may be a sticky substance between the knobs or dials of the timer, causing cooking time to be inaccurate.
- Orange juice, etcetera, would bind to the Timer knob and make it unusable if it formed a bond.
- Pull off the knob by hand after cleaning out dust and dirt. Clean behind it with a damp cloth.
- If the knob doesnt move, it might need to be serviced.

Test The Door Latch Switch
Remove the inner door panel to access the door latch assembly at the top of the door. Make sure the catch engages the door latch switch when it is inserted into the latch assembly. If all appears to work properly, use a multimeter to test the switches for continuity. With the multimeter set on Rx1, touch the probes to the switch terminals. The reading should be at or near zero. If your reading is different, replace the door latch assembly.
Dishwasher Does Not Drain Properly
Make sure you are using the right type and amount of detergent, as the wrong type or amount can cause suds, which can block your machine from draining. Check for clogs or any blockages. Check if the sump area of the rear tub is blocked. Check the drain hose also for blockages. Make sure the drain of your kitchen sink is not clogged. In case you have a disposer installed, run it before turning your dishwasher on to clean the drain system.

Put The Dishwasher In Service Mode To Reset The Dishwasher
Most GE dishwashers will have a service mode that can be activated to reset the dishwasher. Service mode is also where you can run diagnostic tests to identify a faulty component. The dishwashers service manual or tech sheet explains how to operate the dishwasher in service mode. The service manual can usually be found behind an access panel near the water inlet valve.
If this reset method does not apply to your model, finding its service manual will give you precise instructions for how to enter service mode and reset your specific GE dishwasher.
To put the dishwasher in service mode, hold the Select Cycle button and the Start button down for five seconds. Next, to reset the dishwasher, press the Select Cycle button for five seconds. This should activate the lock button light. Press Select Cycle again for five seconds. Hold the Start button now for five seconds. The Start button should start flashing. Finally, hold the Start and Select Cycle button down for five seconds. The dishwasher control panel should now light up, and the dishwasher should be ready to go.
GE allows you to search your specific model number to access the manual for your dishwasher. If the above instructions have failed to solve your issue, locate its manual on the GE website here.
Restart Your Ge Dishwasher By Disconnecting The Power

A GE dishwasher has a small internal computer. Like all computers it can glitch and restarting it can fix minor issues, therefore, if its still beeping and youre not sure why an easy and quick thing to do is restart it. This is done by disconnecting the power to your dishwasher.
If you have access to the wall outlet that your GE dishwasher is plugged into then unplug it. Or turn it off at the wall outlet. Otherwise, turn off the circuit breaker at your switchboard/fuse box.
And then turn it on again. When you do that it will take 2 minutes to return back to normal and similar to if there was a power outage it can beep during this time but will then stop.

Only Press The Start Button Once Twice Will Make It Restart And Beep
This step is a bit of general knowledge but its very easy to accidentally press the start button more than once. Especially, if youre not sure if you pressed it the first time. The start button and the restart button are the same on most GE dishwashers.
So, if you accidentally press it twice it will restart your GE dishwasher. During this time it will beep a few times for 2 minutes as it restarts.
Properly Close The Dishwasher Door
Your GE dishwasher door will not close properly unless it is lined up correctly. If the door is not securely closed, the dishwasher will not start. It can also lead to leakage from the bottom of dishwasher.
Check for any dishes or racks blocking the door and fix them.
Once the door is properly closed and latched, try turning it On again.

Ge Dishwasher Beeping During Drying Cycle
A GE dishwasher will do a rinse, wash, and dry cycle during a full wash cycle. In rare cases there can be a malfunction with a GE dishwasher that will cause it to beep. This is how to troubleshoot a GE dishwasher when its beeping during a drying cycle.
Overall, this is because one of the components is faulty or the drain pump is having problems draining the water due to a clog. Begin by restarting your GE dishwasher by disconnecting it from the power, and then reconnect it again. If the beeping happens again, contact GE support.
If the beeping happens again after a restart its very likely one of the components is faulty. However, it can also be because the screen/filters at the bottom of the dishwasher are clogged with food particles. These can be easily cleaned using hot soapy water in the sink and an old toothbrush.

When theyre clogged this causes water to remain pooled at the bottom of the dishwasher. Your GE dishwasher will register that there is still water at the bottom of your dishwasher and beep to tell you that its having problems draining. Eventually the water can drain out. Refer to your owners manual to see how to remove the screen and filter at the bottom of your dishwasher to clean it.

Inspect The Door Latch
When the door latch is not engaged, a switch prevents the dishwasher from starting. Listen for the sound of the latch clicking into place when you close the door. With the door closed, pull on the door to see if it is closed securely. Visually inspect both sides of the latch for anything that may be preventing it from engaging properly, and for broken parts. If the latch is broken, the switch may be also.
