Food Particles Sometimes Get Washed Back On To The Dishes
One small issue we saw during testing had to do with redeposit. Redeposit is when food particles get washed off one dish and onto another one, remaining there after the cycle completes. This typically occurs because the food isn’t being filtered out of the water properly by the dishwasher.
Fortunately, the WDT750SAKZ only has minor problems with redeposit. Technically speaking, there was about twice as much redeposit as we typically see in our lab testsbut we typically see almost zero redeposit. For the most part, the clean dishes were clean, just a few flecks here and there.
If you do see redeposit when using your WDT750SAKZ, we recommend either cleaning out the filter, hand washing certain food itemslike blenders used to make smoothies with plant-based powders, which are particulate enough to bypass all but the finest dishwasher filters, and/or rinsing plates before placing them into the dishwasher.

Which Dishwasher Tub Is Best
This answer depends on what your lifestyle and needs are. If you find yourself in a pickle without a dishwasher or you are on a smaller budget, a plastic tub dishwasher will do great. But if you are looking for a new appliance that will be quieter and have more custom features, a stainless steel tub is a perfect option.
Lets review a few remaining questions.
Q: Is a plastic tub in a dishwasher bad?
Many economical or budget-friendly dishwashers will use a plastic tub in their interiors. Unfortunately, these tub types are not preferred as they cannot heat up enough to effectively create condensation for evaporative drying.
Q: What does a tall tub in a dishwasher mean?
A tall tub dishwasher will fit the same space as a standard dishwasher tub model. However, overall, tall tub dishwashers have a larger interior.
Q: Which is better stainless steel or plastic dishwasher tub?
Stainless steel tubs in dishwashers provide a better drying and sterilizing environment. They are also stronger and more resistant to cracking.
Why Is Stainless Steel Preferred

Simply put, a plastic tub cannot compete with the list of bonuses that come along with a stainless dishwasher interior. Heres what you get when you upgrade to stainless steel:
All in all, the benefits are considerable, including the ability to withstand long periods of high-heat rinses up to 160 degrees, giving dishes a proper and sanitary wash. And as mentioned, since the tub helps with heating and drying, the process is far more energy-efficient and durable than with a plastic tub.

Benefits Of Stainless Steel Dishwasher Tubs
A stainless steel tub will last your years and give you fresh dishes for every wash. Stainless steel dishwasher tubs are more durable and, as we said, can withstand higher heat temperatures. On top of a better clean, the energy-efficient ratings are better than that of a plastic tub since stainless steel ones retain heat better. You also wont hear rattling noises as loudly or as often throughout your day as you would with a plastic tub.

There Are Minor Issues With Redeposit
Theres not a lot to dislike about the Samsung DW80R2031US. On most tests, it was either dead average or slightly ahead of the curve. One of the few areas where it did lag behindvery slightlywas with redeposit. Redeposit is when food gets washed off one dish, isnt filtered out of the water, and wind up getting washed onto another dish.
We saw more redeposit than average with the DW80R2031US. While it wasnt much worse than average, specks of food on dishes tend to be really eye-catching and obvious. Theres a very thin line between, Its just a stray speck and this dish just finished a wash cycle and still looks dirty. Also, if your dishwasher is consistently delivering speckled dishes after a wash, it can get grating over time.
While the Samsung DW80R2031USs issues with redeposit arent too bad , it will likely be a consistent frustration, albeit a minor one. We saw roughly the same levels of redeposit regardless of what cycle we chose.

Benefits Of A Plastic Tub
Plastic dishwasher tubs have a huge variety of benefits as well. They’re stain-resistant by nature, allowing you to do your dishes with minimal need to clean the interior of your dishwasher. There’s also the fact that they don’t get hard water marks or discoloration. This makes plastic tubs easier to maintain in the long term. Plastic interiors also make dishwashers much less expensive, which can be a relief when you unexpectedly need to replace a broken appliance.

Benefits Of A Stainless Steel V Plastic Dishwasher Tub
Stainless steel is easily a more durable material than plastic, resulting in a longer shelf life. Due to their ability to withstand more heat, stainless steel interior dishwashers are also credited with getting your dishes cleaner. This is because water can be heated to much higher temperatures without compromising the appliance interior. Since stainless steel also retains heat better, the drying cycle is much more efficient resulting in lower energy usage.
Stainless steel dishwasher tubs are also better at absorbing noise, resulting in lower decibel ratings. These tubs can easily be 10 dBA points lower than their plastic tub counterparts.

Stainless Steel Dishwasher Tub
It’s quiet. The density of the steel tub helps absorb sound, which makes stainless steel interiors the quietest dishwashers on the market.
It’s eco-friendly. Stainless steel absorbs heat during the wash cycle, and that radiant heat helps dry your dishes afterwards. Because less energy is required to dry, stainless steel tubs often use a 450-watt heating element compared to the 600-750-watt elements used in plastic tubs.
It’s cleaner. Stainless steel can withstand higher temperatures than plastic so you can expect water temperatures of up to 160 degrees during your wash cycle. The higher temperature kills more bacteria and guarantees cleaner dishes.

Is Stainless Steel Dishwasher Safe
It would be a questionable design choice to make the interior of a dishwasher out of a material that isn’t dishwasher safe.
This is the #1 most-asked question we get about dishwashers. Interpreting its meaning can go one of two ways, but luckily, the answer to each is yes.
First, If youre asking if objects made out of stainless steel are dishwasher-safe, then yes: Experts agree that its OK to wash stainless steel items in your dishwasher. This includes all your stainless steel cookware straws, flatware, and skillets.
Most manufacturers do recommend hand washing skillets and cookware, since harsh ingredients in dishwasher detergent can leave stainless steel pots with white spots, discoloration, and/or a duller finish. However, we have run loads of stainless steel skillets and pots through dishwasher cycles in our lab and they have come out gleaming, although not all burnt-on stains were removed.
Secondly, if youre asking if a stainless steel dishwasher is safe, the answer is also, yes.
In any case, stainless steel interiors are increasingly becoming the standard for modern, full-size dishwashers, and they are totally safe to use.

It Handles Even Stubborn Stains With Ease
An example of some of our test stains before a wash. Now picture even 1% of that green remaining in the bowl after a wash. Would you consider that clean?
Do you eat a lot of casseroles, baked dips, or spinach and strawberry-laden smoothies? If so, you may be as impressed as we are by the WDT750SAKZ’s cleaning capabilities. During testing, both its Normal and Heavy Duty cycles were able to get a load of dirty dishes 99.3% clean. On average, dishwashers clean between 96% and 98% of stains away. Now, this might not seem like a huge difference, but remember we’re talking about clean plates here: If there’s more than a few specks of food left on them, you’ll probably give them another wash. The Quick Wash cycle is a little less impressive, but it was still able to clean over 94% of the stains we threw at it in our lab.
