Help Installing Bosch 800 Series Dishwasher
Hi all, we just purchased a new Bosch 800 series dishwasher and are getting ready to install it. The instructions are pretty vague, and I was hoping people here could give me some guidance on how it should be done. This is the version that has the controls on the top of the door. Our main question is, should it be installed so that the top of the door is visible so the controls can be accessed when the door is closed? In this case, the door will stick out in front of the cabinets, rather than being flush with them – is that right? If we install it with the front of the door flush with the cabinets then we won’t be able to see the controls when the door is closed.Assuming that the door will be in front, what do we do about the rubber gasket pieces around the outside of the door? I’m not referring to the actual door seal. I’m talking about the gasket pieces along the front flange. If we install it so the door is in front of the cabinets these gaskets will also stick out in front of the cabinets. What are we supposed to do with them?Pictures of your installations would also be helpful. Thank you so much!!
Can You Plug A Bosch Dishwasher Into A Regular Outlet

Your Bosch dishwasher can either be cord and plugged or hard-wired. Cord and plug dishwashers can be plugged into a regular outlet. The regular outlet must meet these specifications.
It must use a 60 Hz, 120 volts, 15 amps , fused electrical supply, and copper wires only. It must include a circuit breaker or a time fuse. The outlet must be installed on a separate circuit.
Use a UL listed power cable with three prongs when installing a cord and plug Bocsh dishwasher.
Hard wired dishwashers must be connected using a flexible, nonmetallic sheathed, armored copper wire. Ensure the cable is grounded. Install using a UL-listed strain relief.

Now The Tricky Points During The Install
The Bosch assumes all your connections come in from the rear of the cabinet if yoursalready do, great! .
Our old short-tub machines had lots of space below decades ago, theconnections came up through the floor whereever it happened to be convenient. The replacement short-tub we’dpreviously put in had enough space that we could just move the lines around. In the Bosch SHE23R52UC, that wasn’tthe case. There are 2 channels along the bottom where you can run lines that’s it. The holein the floor to run the drain flex-pipe to your drain system must be somewhere at the rear. Whilethe water/electrical connects to the front of the machine, ideally it starts at the rear and runs to the front throughthe 2 channels at the bottom of the machine. Technically, they could come up from the floor somewhereother-than-the-rear, though if they don’t come up exactly where the connections are, or within thechannels, you’ll hit issues.

How Do You Stop The Beeping On A Bosch Dishwasher
Bosch dishwashers are a bit tricky to reset because the controls are hidden on the top of the door. When the dishwasher is in the wash or rinse cycle, open the door enough to stop the machine from working, to avoid burns. Wait at least 10 seconds or until the sound of the water stops before opening the door far enough to use the buttons.
A Quick Guide On Best Practices For Installing Your Bosch Home Appliances
Installation methods and measurements may vary from model to model – check the installation manual or consult your contractor for more details.
Installing the unit
1. Secure the dishwasher to the cabinet using a bracket or through the side openings of the appliance.
2. For fully integrated models, the door panel should weigh between 2.5kg – 8.0kg.
The door panel must be resistant to steam and moisture.
3. Ensure there is enough clearance between the front door panel and plinth, so that the door can be opened and closed smoothly without obstruction.
Amount of clearance needed depends on the thickness of the door panel and the height of the dishwasher.
4. The electric plug, water supply and drainage hoses should be placed on either the left or right side of the dishwasher. Ensure the plug and hoses can extend at least 60cm so that the dishwasher can be pulled out from the cabinet for maintenance without having to unplug the hoses and power cables. Be sure to disconnect the power and water supply before any maintenance work.
5. An opening of 100mm x 50mm is recommended to allow the electric plug, AquaStop water inlet and water outlet to pass through the side or back panel of the kitchen cabinet comfortably.

How To Fix A Bosch Dishwasher

1) Clean the filter Your Bosch dishwasher must be equipped with a filter located on the bottom of the dishwasher. 2) Check the drain pump. If there is a problem with the drain pump, the dishwasher should display error code E24. 3) Check the hoses for kinks A kinked hose can prevent the dishwasher from draining and cause the E24 error. 4) Clean the dishwasher. If the dishwasher continues to drain water, the E24 error can be resolved by performing a rinse cycle with a detergent solution. 5) Check the air gap/bend/harness The dishwasher drain hose should be connected to the air gap or the trash can or the wiring under the sink. 6) Check drain hose and drain pump.

Running The Electrical Wire & The Conduit Conductor
Check the manual when setting up you need quite a bit of excess wire, enough that quite a bitwill stick out when the dishwasher is pushed in. The reason is if you only have enough wire to reach theconnectors, you won’t be able to secure the strain relief. Thus, you need excess.
Unfortunately, this excess wire has to be jammed into the channel once the strain relief is connected to the plate& you’re attaching the plate to the dishwasher. And there isn’t a lot of room to jam excess wire the channel is narrow and wire does not cram easily. That said, as tempting as it might be,don’t skimp on the wire length too much if you accidentally cut it too short , you’re screwed.
A final note: if your strain relief screws have the threadspointing to the right-side , the threads mightcatch, and you might not be able to get the plate back in. If your plate isn’t going in, and you’re sureit’s not simply excess wire resisting, chances are the strain relief screws are catching pull it back out, rotate the relief a bit, and try again.

How Much Would A Plumber Charge To Install A Bosch Dishwasher
A plumber will charge between $67 to $500 to install your Bosch dishwasher. Note that these prices do not include the value of the dishwasher appliance itself.
The cost of your dishwasher installation will depend on the amount of work that needs to be done. If you are replacing an old dishwasher, then it will be cheaper compared to when you want to have a new dishwasher installed.
Installing a new dishwasher requires preparing the area for installation, some plumbing, and wiring. In contrast, a replacement service will not require wiring. Plumbing services will only be needed if the new dishwasher runs on a different valve from that of the old one.

Turning Power/water Back On
The final note . Not Bosch-specific, but important any time you wire in an appliancethat deals with electricity & water Once it’s installed and it’s time to turn the water/powerback on, do it gradually. It’s good to have a helper watch the dishwasher so they can yell if you turn somethingon and water starts pouring. Ideally, you’ll keep the lower front panel off for the first wash so that you canobserve the water inlet.
What I typically do:
Again, the manual walks you through just about everything. So long as your lines are set up / positioned properly, the process is relatively simple. If they aren’tlined up. plan to spend a lot of time re-working those aspects.
Can You Put A Bosch Dishwasher And Microwave On The Same Circuit

You cannot put a Bosch dishwasher and a microwave on the same circuit. Each socket in your house is rated 20 amps or 15 amps. For your safety, you should never load a circuit above 80% of its maximum load capacity.
What this means in practice is that for a 15-amp circuit, you should not load the circuit beyond 1440 watts when running on 120 volts. And for a 20-amp circuit on the same voltage, the maximum load should never exceed 1920 watts.
Therefore, running your dishwasher along with your microwave will blow your circuit.

Copper Pipe Directly To The Water Inlet Is Pretty Much A No
Technically, it’s possible . To do it, you’d need torun the pipe up from the floor almost *exactly* where the water inlet will be when the machine is installed. Inaddition, you probably wouldn’t be able to run the pipe itself up through the floor until the machine is pushedin , because otherwise the pipe protruding from the floor would stop the machine from slidingin/out.
PEX and/or braided dishwasher hose will work, as they can be run through the channel. Of course, the old system herehad a copper pipe coming from the floor, not in the correct location for this machine, and thus, I had a fun littleconversion to make to braided dishwasher hose.
