It Effectively Scrubs Out Difficult Stains
The Samsung DW80R2031US can hold up to 14 place settings.
On just about all of our test stains, this Samsung dishwasher did an excellent job. Almost across the board, stains were either 100% removed or had less than 2% of the stain remaining. On particularly difficult stains, it still cleaned off about 94%, whereas other inexpensive options might only clear away 11%30%.
Typically when youre looking for a good value, you have to compromise a bit on cleaning power. Fortunately, thats really not the case with the DW80R2031US.
There Are Minor Issues With Redeposit
Theres not a lot to dislike about the Samsung DW80R2031US. On most tests, it was either dead average or slightly ahead of the curve. One of the few areas where it did lag behindvery slightlywas with redeposit. Redeposit is when food gets washed off one dish, isnt filtered out of the water, and wind up getting washed onto another dish.
We saw more redeposit than average with the DW80R2031US. While it wasnt much worse than average, specks of food on dishes tend to be really eye-catching and obvious. Theres a very thin line between, Its just a stray speck and this dish just finished a wash cycle and still looks dirty. Also, if your dishwasher is consistently delivering speckled dishes after a wash, it can get grating over time.
While the Samsung DW80R2031USs issues with redeposit arent too bad , it will likely be a consistent frustration, albeit a minor one. We saw roughly the same levels of redeposit regardless of what cycle we chose.

The Samsung DW80R2031US has a very sleek, modern design for an affordable dishwasher. It has a bold handle and an otherwise clean facade, opting to keep its digital touch controls hidden on the top of the stainless steel door.
Inside is a standard two-rack layout. The upper rack does have two extras, however: Its height can be adjusted to accommodate different dishware shapes and sizes, and it’s outfitted with stemware holders.

A proposed class action alleges the black stainless steel finish for certain Samsung appliances is nothing more than a thin plastic coating prone to peel, chip, flake and prematurely degrade after ordinary use.
The 35-page lawsuit in Texas federal court alleges defendant Samsung Electronics America has falsely advertised its premium-priced, purportedly durable black stainless steel finish for kitchen appliances while concealing from consumers the defect that causes the finish to break down over the course of only a few years of normal use. As the suit tells it, consumers do not report such issues with Samsung appliances sold with stainless steel, white, or black finishes.
In addition to what the case calls the obvious aesthetic ramifications of the propensity of black stainless steel Samsung refrigerators, ovens, cooktops, microwaves and dishwashers to shed their finish prematurely, the complaint stresses proposed class members must also contend with the potential of ingesting the finish once it flakes or peels off.
